Need tranny info for a 90 1/2 ton sub
Ahoy, the tranny in my dads sub is not shifting into 3rd or 4th so I am looking for a new or used one and I need to know what kind of tranny it is. Its a 350 half ton automatic.
Thanks in advance! Josh |

it's definitely a 700r4. you can have it rebuilt for about $1200 I believe. You've got to be really careful about a used one b/c you don't know when that's going to go out...

Re: Need tranny info for a 90 1/2 ton sub
Out of curiosity, what was his price?? He quoted me $1400 to have a 700R4 installed in my '69 Burb complete minus driveshaft mods. I regret big time not doing it. There is a guy I work with who dealt with him, who said he helped with his truck more than he was obligated too. Also, the shop I got my engine from in Glendale, recommended him also for installing a 700 in my Burb. Like I said, I regret not doing it.

Re: Need tranny info for a 90 1/2 ton sub
I was quoted 800 something and same day service. I also asked him about the t5 tranny from my 86 merkur xr4ti and he said that since I already have the tranny out he would take it apart and look it over and would put it back together if I decided not to have them do any work on it. All for free, thats rare.
