Re: Good deal in Miss on ebay!!

As sweet as that truck looks... is it just me being a tight wad.. or is 800 bucks quite a bit for an engineless, trannyless, body beat to hell, wood missing from the bed, all glass missing and undoubtedly moldy ass truck?
Or am I out of line.

I thought it was pretty sweet untill I saw the reserve.

I agree. Even in Arizona you have to pull the carpet/rubber mats before you start to describe. I know I have been suprised a few time here and we have no humidity/rain to deal with.

I think the wheels were made by Western Wheel Co. they were called Turbines if I remember correctly

I second Longhorn Man's thoughts. Now for $300-400 it might be worth while. It also looks like the rockers are toast.

Re: Good deal in Miss on ebay!!

In texas 67-72 bodys especially short beds bring insane amounts of money. I just watched a guy pay $1,000 bucks for a plane jane 72 roller that needs corners and rockers. The prices on my trucks just went up, thats for sure.

Re: Good deal in Miss on ebay!!

To each their own, If you have a swb 4x4 frame you could sit the body right on it. Bed is worth $300-400 alone, doors look good, front clip looks good, 71 swb disc brake setup, the body doesn't look that beat up to me, its not all rusted out. Most trucks have rust in rockers and wood bed floor is usaully gone. I wouldn't be scared to buy and part it out if I had, you'd even make some extra $$$ doing it. I wish it was closer to me!!!!!

I can see the value in parts... that is a given, just seems high to me for a truck.

Re: Good deal in Miss on ebay!!

around here it's not unusual to see a price of 800-1000 on just a naked rolling short frame so for all the extras i'd say a GOOD PRICE// if i was physically able to travel i'd go get it to bad his delivery is so high

Re: Good deal in Miss on ebay!!

I think Tee did say "nice project" If it were around here it would bring more $$. Lots of parts trucks around here not many that are 71-72 short steps though .

Re: Good deal in Miss on ebay!!

Anything complete/rolling under $1,000 is cheap to me.The more it has is a plus.Drivetrains are dime a dozen.I don`t expect trucks to be less than cars.I expect the opposite, since trucks are so "rebuildable".I look at a short bed truck like this as a start to $30-40,000 street rod, just like any other cool early iron.If I was looking for a driver,I`d want something else, running.

ANDY... YOUR IN FOR A BIG SHOCK WHEN YOU COME OUT WEST. THE TRUCKS THAT AREN'T IN THE RUST BELT ARE QUITE A BIT MORE VALUEABLE THAN YOUR AVERAGE OHIO RUSTBUCKET. THE TRUCKS WITH LITTLE OR NO RUST ARE MORE EXPENSIVE TO BUY, BUT A WHOLE LOT CHEAPER TO FIX. BELIEVE ME... I LIVED IN MICHIGAN FOR 35 YEARS & COULD ONLY DRIVE MY TRUCKS 7 OR 8 MONTHS A YEAR. ON A QUIET NIGHT.. YOU COULD HEAR THE CORN GROW, & CARS RUST. I WOULDN'T BE AFRAID TO BUILD OR PART OUT THAT TRUCK FOR THAT PRICE. JOHN
