help..apc steering wheel install
hey anybody hooked up a horn on an apc wheel?i got it off ebay with minimal instructions, the install kit keeps talking about one or two wire set up,my 79 just has a little plunger peg that activates the horn not a wire.the wheel looks great and was easy to figure out .but the horn baffles me.

Re: help..apc steering wheel install
Does your horn button have two prongs on it? Plastic? Got a pic? If it does have two, one wire goes to one of the 3 bolts (ground) & the other goes to the plunger.

Re: help..apc steering wheel install
I had a grant wheel hanging around from a previous vehicle, but I didn't have any of the Grant horn wire crap, so I took the horn "pin" out, jammed a wire into the spring, then reinstalled the pin, which wedged the wire between the pin and the wire. I hooked the other end of the wire to the terminal on the horn. It works great, and there's no danger of the wire dislodging because it's a tight fit with the pin reinstalled.
As far as I know, the APC wheels are the same as the Grants or very similar. Even if they're totally different, I'm sure you can wire the horn the same way. |
