barn door conversion
my bro wants to convert his tailgate 82 burb to barn doors, what all is involved, thanks, brian

There is too much involved to make it worthwhile. Tell him to go find a barn door Burb and fix that up..

he found out it ain't easy, the lower panel will have to be swapped & he has to get the nut plates that bolt on the doors. he has them "on" now, just another trip to the yard for the lower panel. brian

If it was a pre-80 model it would be alot easier. Most came with both hole/plates installed.

the toughest part is changing the panel under the doors/taiilgate, they are different. brian

i've done one not worth the time along with the lower plate there is also a crossmember under the floor that has to be changed you have to buy the crossmember new it's about 250.00
