Vintage AC in a stock AC cab

Hey you guys out there that have installed Vintage Air systems, have you installed them using the stock AC vents? I know they offer their own AC balls and center vents but can you use the stock vents? Also what are your thoughts about Vintage Air, are there alternatives? Are you happy with the Vintage Air system? Just starting to consider this, so any feedback would be welcome.

Re: Vintage AC in a stock AC cab

I have Vintage Air in both of my trucks. It can be run through your factory vents if you have a factory air truck. They have a very complete kit with excellent instructions. I know that it keeps us cool on those hot humid days we get in Georgia. A lot of people say that it is cheaper to go with Vintage Air than it is to refurbish a factory setup. I really don't know I have never redone a factory system. If you have any questions give them a call, everyone I have dealt with there has always been very helpful.

I'm very pleased with my Vintage Air system. Both the A/C and heater work great. You can order it for a stock A/C cab w/ stock controls and it will hook right up to your existing vents and controls. You will loose the stock appearance of the A/C unit under the hood, but it really cleans up the firewall.

Does the Vintage air give you the ability to bring in outside air or is it like most other aftermarket systems that just recycle the inside air?

Re: Vintage AC in a stock AC cab

Restorod71, my intent would be to use the stock vents but use the new Vintage Air controller...I am assuming you can do that too, it just might be the way you order it from them. I will contact them and have a chat. Thanks
