Charging system fixed!!!!!!!!
Spent today running new cables. All new gronds and a new positive to the starter while I was at it. Loosened the alt and changed belts. I found the post on back of the alt was loose. Not the wire but the post itself. Tightened it up, replaced belt. There you have it. Could've been any of the above but whatever it was, it is fixed now.Now I finally notice how much brighter the dash lights are from the chrome paint,LOL! Little less hair on my head but at least it's fixed. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Re: Charging system fixed!!!!!!!!
Thats good to hear and now you know everything in that system is good and it should be trouble free for quite awhile.

Re: Charging system fixed!!!!!!!!
I ended up using 4 and a size larger 2? Anyway, I spoke too soon, the problem only went away for a day. It's back, but only sometimes. I'm going to start checking the alt directly when it happens again. Oh well, I've eliminated all grounds and alt belt at least!
