What are you guys using for sill/rocker plates

I don't mean the chrome sill plates I'm talking about directly on top of the rocker below where the rubber for the door is. mocwon used blazer sill plates from a 99 blazer. He gave me the part number he used, but GM doesn't make them anymore. Just in case I can't find any at a junkyard I'd like to see some ideas.

mocown, are you out there? i'd like to see a pic of that. this guy on ebay sells billet aluminum pieces with a bowtie on them. i see some in the catalogs that are quite similar to those.

What's the max thickness that would work? I've always thought about fabbing some out of thin diamond plate.
