Re: back from body shop

I bought some ralley wheels from the guy you bought your truck from 76 bonnaza. It's from coffeyville KS right? When it was restored he said he he used a 68 camaro brake booster.

Re: back from body shop

Ya coffeyville did you get some good rims from him? The booster that was on it was leaking vaccum like crazy got this one new for a 3/4 71 p.u. and got it painted to match the truck. I hit the deer in the road 15 minutes from his house after buying it. Seemed like an ok guy. they cut out some bondo from the corner that was about 2 inches thick.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=189762 This was the guy who told me of using the camaro booster on 4drum brakes. How do your brakes work?

Re: back from body shop

I never saw the truck up close. The pics looked really good of it. I didn't think you could use disc/drum power boosters on all drum brakes. I hope it's not full of bondo. The way this guy talked he put these trucks together all the time. 2" of bondo is scarey though. I know he wanting something like $9500 for it. did he paint it himself? Is that the original 68 blue?

Re: back from body shop

not sure if he painted it it is very much like the original blue but a little more metalic I think. The booster I got for the 3/4 71 looked just like the one he had on it stops great made me change my mind about the disk upgrade. So far this was the bondo I found. I did not pay what he wanted lots of little things to fix but runs strong nice daily driver for me. I still have plans for lots of upgrades tho and have done a lot since a bought it.
