3" drop control arms on a 98 x-cab

I want to go 5" down in the front on my 98, but am trying to do it without using 3" coils. It seems all I can find are 2" spindles, and I've had problems with 3" spindles on 15" rims before. Do a-arms have the same problem? I see DJM lists a 3" control arm but it says "must use with factory coils", any idea why?
