help!!! info needed
Does anyone have the info of how to convert a longbed to a shortbed!.
Now I am talking about the bed itself. I already have the short frame with a stepside and want to make a shortwide. I have a good longwide to build from just don't know how much and where to take off the length. Need some help guys!! Thanks.

Re: help!!! info needed
it can be done but for the time and effort you'd be much better off turning the longbed into a trailer so when you buy a short bed you can haul it home// i think 99.9% of the attempts to shorten the fleetside beds end up in the dumpster

Re: help!!! info needed
I'm getting ready to do the same thing. If it doesn't work, I'll stick the short step I have on it, but I have to try. Look at the link I attached. No measurements but appears to be taken out just behind the front panel and just in front of the rear. 12" in front, 8" in back.
http://totallypolished.com/projects/71.htm Hope this helps. Keep me posted on your progress. I just received my rockers and will be cutting the frame and bed once I get them replaced.

Re: help!!! info needed
it would be easier to buy a bed from ebay or off a junk truck.

Re: help!!! info needed
It sounds easy just slicing out sections until you stop and look at how the body lines are off and how much work needs to be done from there. But I understand the more time than money thinking.
