Just say no!!
No more trucks.. No more trucks.. Thats what I keep telling myself.. BUT two for $300?? and one is a 3/4 ton Cheyenne Super? ... I can't help myself!!.. Please advise is there a cure??
The Green 71 is gonna get cut up and scrapped, I wanted the 5 lug disc brake stuff and the grill.. the only other body part thats any good is the hood.. it has a couple of minor dings.. and if anyone wants to stop by and get the hood.. its free!! (no shipping) Not sure what to do with the Cheyenne yet.. (I'm in the Seattle area) Last edited by Livrat; 03-16-2006 at 12:48 AM. |

Re: Just say no!!
I know, my wife keeps saying "the next truck that follows you home ...."
So I found a loop hole. Found a 78 Camaro for my youngest son. Said he really didn't want the 68 short stepside that I had found for him. He starts driving soon. My answer "you said no more trucks..."

Hey Mark.
What is with the "DORF" in the background of the first pic? I hope you didn't drag that home too! You had better have a good reason. Darrell... |

Re: Just say no!!
68350.. Those are the only pictures I took.. I can take more if there is something specific you are looking for.. The glass is clear.. the only thing good on the interior is one green arm rest.. and the AT steering column..
The dash pad is gone.. seat is toast, inst cluster is busted, heater controls are toast.. no radio etc.. |

Re: Just say no!!
Mark we have to work fast to save you from all this!
First and foremost, transfer all of your good trucks and good parts to me---immediately. Then you may also have to go to some of those group meeting thingys and get all of the truck addict members to do the same as above. You can keep looking, as a gradual withdrawl from the habit, but be sure to notify me of all good finds. Do not buy any of them or you will be hooked again. Good luck...I don't know how many step-program this is, but try to stick to it. If you need a sponsor, just call me when you find a good truck. Frank |

uncle.. Hmm.. Death?.. you may be onto something there!!
HeavyD.. Hmmm... Find a hard a$$ed truck hating wife?.. naw she wouldn't last long around me.. the next woman in my life has to like Cars,Trucks,Harleys and boats!! My x-wife once said to me.. either the cars go or I do.. occasionally I still miss her.. Mark thanks input.. sounds like we need to start "TA" trucks anomyous. JAKES 68GMC yes the Cheyenne runs but knocks.. but it does have a fresh T350 Aluminun intake, Carter AFB carb and headers Frank could you be here by midnight and take it all away in the dark? That way I wont see much.. I guess we better not hold the group meeting thingys at your place. Hmmmmm.. gradual withdrawl?.. good idea.. I tried it cold turkey 10 years ago.. that didn't work.. now I am knee deep in em again.. No more trucks No more trucks No more trucks.. Do not buy em. Do not buy em. Do not buy em. Okay I am better for tonight... Whew.. |

Re: Just say no!!
I have good news and bad news. they both deal with the cure for the addiction. it is simple yet extremely fainful. buy an old Ford. after about 3 or 4 months you will sell everything automotive along with all your tools and start collecting stamps or beer can cozies. shortly afterwards they will take you away in a funny white jacket and place you under constant observation.
luckily I am still in denial. |

Re: Just say no!!
There`s only one living remedy to our syndrom.Let your wife talk you into moving into a condo(cannot be groung level),preferably the top floor as close as possible to the management office`s view. There will be strict covenences against unregistered, working on,sitting, and too many vehicles. You will become (slowly) ass-imulated into not driving anything older that 5 years old (Banks won`t finance older. They`re no good)with no visible flaws and does not vary from your neighbors vehicle in shape or color enough to be able to find it out front either if it is not in your numbered space or the battery is dead in your remote entry. You will need to reduce your tool inventory to a plactic carrying case full of tools with matching colored handles.Lime`s in these days. You may find yourself obsessed with bird feeders outside the patio door and find yourself at war with the squirrels, channeling your creative energy into creating anti-squirrel devices from things in the recycling bin.
See,trucks in the yard is sounding pretty stable about now.Ther IS a method to our madness.
