Cantilever "front" suspension.
In the quest to be different, this guys has gotten really creative. Among the many modifications he has done to this radical Explorer is a custom built cantilever IFS that uses what appears to be dropped tubular I beams. The rest looks to be built from scratch.
It looks like it could be a mite wobbly to me, but I will give him a 100% for creativity points. The rest of the truck is pretty wild too... ![]()

Re: Cantilever "front" suspension.
Looks like pretty extensive work just to fit the Aviator front clip.

Re: Cantilever "front" suspension.
I like the concept, but I'd imagine the amplification effect from the canti would make those little bumps on the highway pretty scary. I contemplated some years ago about a hydraulic xmember adjuster... so you could get a "solid" movement of the suspension without significantly* affecting geometry
*since the net effect would be to raise/lower the front significantly, KPI would be affected slightly as the vehicle arc'd along the rear axle axis.
