It's back to work Monday...what did you get done over the weekend?

I got the engine and trans built up and installed in the Suburban.

I also finished up the front 5 lug disc brake swap with drop parts installed. New brake lines too.

Did the power steering swap too.

I'm working on the wheels next. I already have the tires sitting in the corner of the shop waiting for the wheels to be done.

All I did was mow the yard and work on cleaning up the neighbors overgrown backyard.

Re: It's back to work Monday...what did you get done over the weekend?

Me and a few buddies leveled my old garage(if you can call it that) and started breaking up the old slab to make way for the new one. My house was built in 1954 did they even park cars in the garage then, because they were all a lot bigger than today's vehicles and I can't fit one in mine. I also went to Home Depot and picked up an Ultimate Garage book. I'll post pics of the construction process when I start.

I installed a truck tilt, and swapped in an aluminum intake. Also a little bit of spring cleaning on the truck.

I pulled the Blazer's motor out Thursday night and on Satuday took it to an engine guy to have him look at it.

I painted my water pump, engine mounts and touched up my engine paint.
I also installed the new release bearing in my 5 speed tranny.

Re: It's back to work Monday...what did you get done over the weekend?

Bought me a new A/C Compressor mount bracket, and a Lokar tranny shift linkage kit for truck. Told the wife that I was considering new wheels.

I had to work on my DD this weekend. Changed the trans pan gasket and fluid, oil, and found a leaking front seal.

Re: It's back to work Monday...what did you get done over the weekend?

In preparation for installing my engine and OD tranny, I removed the manual crossmember and cleaned up the frame some with a wire wheel. There's some dirty work for you, wish I could remove the cab and bed first like a sane person would have. Now I'm looking at replacing the cab mounts "while I'm in there". Already redoing the gaskets on the engine "while I'm in there". Next thing you know, I'll have the truck completely apart and sand blasted "while I'm in there"...

Re: It's back to work Monday...what did you get done over the weekend?

I worked on adjusting the tailgate, adjusting the rear bumpers, cleaned and painted the front bumper brackets, and fixed a bad connection for the pass side reverse light. Also got the front end aligned, and performed an oil change and cut open the oil filture to see how the break-in of my engine went.

Goal for this week is to get the timing, carb adjustment, RPM, and tranny all adjusted correctly.

Re: It's back to work Monday...what did you get done over the weekend?

I had drill this weekend.

I did get the new steering wheel installed and got the rest of the dash area painted. I put a bit of grease on the ash tray and now it works like a charm.

If next weekend is dry, I will tackle the weather stripping kit that has been on the shelf for 2 months. My windows rattle something awful.

Re: It's back to work Monday...what did you get done over the weekend?

Serviced my daily driver Isuzu Trooper ready to go to France on Thursday night. Cursed the thing when afterwards the exhaust decided to snap at the back of the muffler (got that replaced today, £65 I didn't want to have to spend) The on Sunday it hailed, sleeted, snowed and was generally very unpleasant, not great weather for April! Took the cat to the vet as it's lost a lot of weight recently (3lb) and found out it's defective, got an overactive Thyroid gland so it's on medication for the rest of it's life or we could maybe have the thing removed. Damn thing costs more than my truck to run.

Truck wise, very little. Used the Dodge to haul trees and bush cuttings Friday and Saturday. Change the tie rods on the 96 Bonneville and had it aligned. Change the tire on my mower. Got roped into taking the wife to the mall yesterday. My son and I did, barely, survive the torture

Didn't get anything done on my 68. I have been building three Type-3 fire engines for my town's volunteer department, so I spent this weekend doing all the electrical on the last one. WOW, those thing use a lot of wire!!!!
