Re: Never thought a new body style bed could look so good

It's a "custom"...not a stocker. So, I really like it for all of the high quality work involved. I think it would look even better with the 67 nose & grill, because 67 is cleaner and more aero dynamic...flows more like the late bed & fenders.

Re: Never thought a new body style bed could look so good

That's why mine isn't an exact copy of the red one. I have the '67 front clip with a shaved narrowed bumper, cowl hood, no drip rails and a glass bed cover with lite fillers and no bed steps. It's laser blue, smooth & shaved but not layin like the red one. Mainly cuz its my summer driver. Its low enough on bags and 2 1/2 inch spindles. If somebody made glass round well bed sides for the new style they could sell a ton of 'em.

Where was that picture taken? That reminds me alot of heber or showlow.

Re: Never thought a new body style bed could look so good

I wasn't going to reply 'cuz it might get this thread closed, but look at how the dually looks in the area I circled, that painjob was a waste, the area I mentioned wasn't even worked on to modify it a bit at least, newer beds on our trucks still look like crap, it doesn't matter how you slice it.

Longhornman posted another pic before of a newer fleetside bed on an older truck, it was at a different angle and you could see how bad the lines matched (well, they didn't)

Re: Never thought a new body style bed could look so good

I was looking at the lower line and the curve of the bed and cab. I see what you mean at the top now that you pointed it out. I'm not a big fan of most trucks with the newer style beds, but I like this one and the red one is nice too.

the red one looks nicer in part because that upper line was filled. it at least helps by not drawing your eye to the mis-match.

Re: Never thought a new body style bed could look so good

This is just a quick edit in the paint pogram.... but like I said in the first post, I think it would be cool for someone to chop up some fiberglass fenders made for our trucks and graft them into the new bed

I agree. While building mine I thought about that, but then again after having that truck for awhile I could'nt stand the bed and sold my 68. But to each their own.

Brad it was taken in Lakeside (a few miles south of Show Low) about 6 years ago. It is about 1/4 mile from the beautiful house I had there that my ex wife lives in

Re: Never thought a new body style bed could look so good

Just a thought or 2 for the guys that just cant "get with" the square rear fender opening on that BAD AZZ CHEV.....have you ever seen a tri 5 chev, with the same shape fender opening front/rear, other than a NOMAD? Even so, the 55-7 chevs were bad as he!!. Also look at the early/mid 60's FORD trucks......very nice lines, but they also have a diff shape on the rear fender opening. IMO, too many critics......if its "bad to the bone", & Lotik's truck IS ! It dont need any explanation, or excuses, cause its just BAD TO THE F"ING BONE L

There is a 69 that is blue and the guy has that bed on it out here in Ridgecrest CA. It is lifted with little tiny tires. Looks bad! Sorry no pic. The red one in this thread is neat looking!
