My 68 C10 Pictures - LS1

Hello,

I haven't posted on the board for a while so I thought I would give you guys a little update. You've probably seen my LS1 pictures already but I've completely rebuilt the suspension and brakes since. I have 4 wheel baer disc brakes and the entire ECE suspension package complete with drop spindles and springs. The wheels are 20s and they really made the truck look great. I recently had the hood repainted and stuck the hood emblems back on and added the front bumper instead of the roll pan. The bumper really made a big difference in looks.

My next projects are getting a new steering gear installed. I'm going to retrofit 12:1 straight ratio gears in the box and have the proper valving installed to give a nice firm feel. The steering is the crappiest part of my truck right now. Then I'm going to try to find some nice 2-way adjustable shocks for the rear so I can adjust it right. I'm still looking at getting the exhaust done and getting my Eaton posi installed. It's only money, right? One step at a time.

Here's a link to my picures.

Later,
Mark

Oh I want your truck so bad. That is what I need to drive around in daily. Who cares about gas prices when you are riding like that.

Thanks! The tires are Toyo Proxie 255/45R20 and 295/45R20. It took a lot of researching before I found tires that were the perfect fit for my wants.

Thanks. The wheels are made by Intro and they are 8" and 9.5". Sorry but I forget the offset.

The master and booster are from a company called ABS Power Brake. They are in Orange, CA. The booster is a dual diaphram and it's built for our trucks. They also stocked the master which is a 1" bore. It's a little too touchy with my disc brakes. I'm eventually going to go up in cylinder size to drop the line pressure down a little. http://abspowerbrake.com/ It's a nice looking setup.

Booster information is above. I actually ran into ABS at the pomona swap meet over the weekend. I told them about the "touchy" brakes and they asked me to bring my truck in and they would diagnose/adjust it for free. The parts are really nice looking. They have a new cast aluminum reservoir for the master that looks real nice. I'm going to upgrade to that when I take my truck down there.

The radiator is a factory, 3 core replacement. Nothing special. It's not supposed to hold up to the "red" coolant but so far so good. It's suggested to use an aluminum radiator with the "red" coolant. That's the coolant to use when you have an LSx.

I have a electric fan on the radiator, I think it's 18". It keeps the motor nice and cool.

is the one you got copper or aluminum? The radiator thing has been driving me nuts. i've heard so many stories about what you should and shouldn't use. I need to have mine cleaned out before I can really comfortably use it and i'm not sure if it's just most cost effective to buy a new one. the bad part is a lot of the stock ones for cars w/LS1's in them have a slanted filler neck and whatnot. can't really use them in our trucks.
