Gas Tank Relocation
I would like to remove the gas tank from behind the seat on my 66 and install another one along the frame rails like later model trucks. I saw a kit that places a new tank in the rear, but I don't want to loose the spare tire location.
Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks! Larry |

Re: Gas Tank Relocation
If you use a panl/burb tank they have a cutout for spare tire. I think there is a difference(location) is crossmembers that support it. There was a tread long time back about moving a crossmember for supporting gas tank, think it was 67-72 board, but since the chassis are the same...

Re: Gas Tank Relocation
or do like i did... go with a blazer tank and lose the spare and invest in a roadside assistance motor club for $25-$50 a year. then if you have any trouble on the road be it a flat or run out of gas or even break down and need a tow youre covered.

Re: Gas Tank Relocation
How about having some custom built saddle tanks. That's what the previous owner of my Burb did after dropping in the gas guzzling 454. Aero tanks builds nice stuff. I once put one of their 40 gallon tanks in my old '72 Blazer. I'm not sure what they charge for custom jobs, they might have something on the shelf that will work for you. http://www.aerotanks.com/
