Progress pictures of my '72
So far I've lowered it 2/4,installed Edelbrock performance/dress accessories, installed new billet grille, and put on new Magnaflow exhaust. I think i'll leave it alone for a while until my shop is finished being built.

Re: Progress pictures of my '72
Anybody else use the lowering shackles for leaf springs? Mine are a little tight against the bottom rail of the box. I'm thinking I may have to do some trimming or modifications.

Re: Progress pictures of my '72
i guess they're made to give you the most drop, when parked, not driven. i would cut the cross sill some and not worry about that shackle anymore. when i put the blazer tank under my bed i had to ditch the entire cross sill above it, not just a section, and it's all good.

What kind of shackles are those? The paint on them has me guessing DJM? Truck looks good by the way.

I don't remember the company who makes them, but I bought them through GMC Paul's. The company who makes them is out of Arizona I think.

Re: Progress pictures of my '72
I have got a stupid question. I bought a truck that has the same grill in it. How do you open the hood? I have to stick my hand under the back side of the grill and push the release that way. If it had a bumper on it I wouldnt be able to open it at all.

Re: Progress pictures of my '72
I have skinny fingers, I can reach between the bars for now. I'm going to make a "T" bar to fit on to extend the release so I can pop it from under the bumper.

Re: Progress pictures of my '72
Putter a fellow member has an FAQ on how to install a hood latch popper from the inside of the truck. He will even do the mod to your bracket and get the cable for you. You should PM him about it, it is really cool, and a nice theft deterrant(sp) as well
