Long time since I've posted
As the title says, it has been a while. I read the threads often, but haven't had enough progress on my build to warrant a post. Decided tonite to add some pics. '72 cab and bed, '68 front clip. 4/6 drop.
.030 over 350 with a small B&M blower, roller rockers, cam gear drive. The paint has already been bought, Viper Red. Replaced rockers, cab corners, and filled the cowl, side markers, cab seam, and door handles. Smoothed the firewall. Roll pans front and rear, with '80's Trans-am lights cut down and turned upside down in the rear pan. Body work is almost finished, and we should be painting in the next month or so. Any comments are welcome. Kevin

Looks like you do good work. Sometimes taking it slow is better. What's that sitting next to the engine in that shot?

Re: Long time since I've posted
To answer a couple of questions, I am posting a pic of the rear roll pan. I guess I haven't even taken one of the front pan, but I will next time I get to work on the truck. I was trying to find a taillight to put into the rear pan, so after looking around a local salvage yard, I found a pair of Trans-Am tails from the 80's. The lights originally had three ribs, but they were too large for the pan. We trimmed off the top rib, and built a sheetmetal reflector box behind the cut down lenses. Cut holes in the box the same shape as the bulb receptacles in the original, and now the bulb holders slip in and turn a quarter of a turn to hold them in. Then we turned the lights upside down and swapped from left to right. That made the curve of the lights match the shape of the fenders really closely.
I was also asked about the other vehicles in the motor pic. The '39 Chevy 2dr Sedan is my Dad's. He is the one helping me build my truck. He's a long-time hot rodder, and it is really cool to be able to learn from him. The Camaro in the pic is a '69 that belongs to a high school age friend of the family. Dad helped him build the car, using Dad's shop. Now there is another kid that has learned how much fun building a kick ass ride can be. Kevin
