1967 Motor Mounts Available ???
I am restoring a 1967 GMC 4x4 The motor mounts are different than other mounts I have seen on these trucks. Anybody know if these are still available. Thought I'd ask here befor heading to talk to the local auto parts shop.

Re: 1967 Motor Mounts Available ???
Looks like you might have a 305 V-6. Nope, those mounts are no longer available. You can send them to Steele Products and have them remanufactured.

Re: 1967 Motor Mounts Available ???
This truck was a v-8 truck. The motor mounts where broke, but half of each were bolted to the engine cross member with two bolts. I have never seen these type before. Anyone know for sure? If I need to I'll start now asking for a 4x4 cross member from a later truck. Anyone have 1

Re: 1967 Motor Mounts Available ???
That's really strange. GMC didn't make any V-8 powered pickups in '67, except for Canada. The V-6 mount has 2 studs on the bottom, and a flat plate with holes on either side on top. Does the VIN of this truck start with the letters 'KM'?

Re: 1967 Motor Mounts Available ???
You are probably correct on the v-6, I did not know for sure. The truck came without engine and trans, and no glove box sticker. Likely I will have to find a engine crossmember from a 68-72 4x4 if I can not modify the one I have for the v-8 motor mounts. Anyone have one layin around they can send my way?

Re: 1967 Motor Mounts Available ???
I think you are on the right track. Set it up to use the common Chevy motor mounts if you are going with a Chevy V-8. The truck probably had the V-6 in it, and someone just sat the Chevy on the GMC mounts and drilled new holes.

Re: 1967 Motor Mounts Available ???
Go with the newer style mounts for sure, unless your trying to stay close to 67 originality as possible.

Re: 1967 Motor Mounts Available ???
Not to stir up the water too much here because I don't know V 6 or Early GMC but there were a lot of those motors used in forklifts. I bet I could go to a dozen junkyards and find 3 V6 forklifts in action or dead. Around this area at least. Check with a forklift part place/distributor.
Just a thought - Bob

Re: 1967 Motor Mounts Available ???
My intensions are to put a small block 400 into this truck. The motor cross member had two small holes for the mounts to bolt to. What I'm going to try is to hole saw a large hole into the cross member the size of the later model cross members and hope thats all I'll need. If not I'll be on the parts board looking for a later cross member to purchase. Thanks fellas for the help! I love this site.
