Few Crewcab Q's
I have been toying with the idea of taking a burb and big window cab and making a 4x4 crew cab with 6 foot bed to drive daily. I have been slowly gathering parts etc and one of the questions I have for anyone who has attempted this is what frame did you end up using. The burban frame seems to be a little short as well as the rear axle being to far forward. I am a ways off from starting this project I am just in the information/ parts gathering phase. thank steve.

pm rockrln. he's doing one right now (though i don't think he had to do the frame work.) give it a shot. he's got a great thread going on his build.

Steve,
I built an extended cab with a 15" stretch using a 6.5 ft bed and a longhorn frame which has 133" wheel base (it is the same as a short wheel based 1 ton frame).. from your description of what you have in mind.. you might check out a long wheel based 1 ton, their wheel base is 157", the stock suburban has 127" wheel base..
