Re: Wheel/Tire Fitment Pictures & Info
Well the rally wheels are gone and have been replaced by 17" Wheel Vintiques Cruzers. The rears are 17x9.5 with 4.75" of backspace with a 275/50. Up front is 17x8 with 4" of backspace and a 255/50. Tires are Nitto NT 450. I bought the wheels and tires from www.newstalgiawheel.com . The guys who actualy built them are in Fresno www.wheelvintiques.com . My drop is still the same. Front is a 2.5" drop spindle with a 1" drop coil. The rear has a 6" drop coil. I also used the Super track bar in the rear and an extreme drop trailing arm crossmember. All the parts came from www.earlyclassic.com .

Re: Wheel/Tire Fitment Pictures & Info
Well it's still a good looking truck in spite of the new wheels. JK

Re: Wheel/Tire Fitment Pictures & Info
Didn't see this combo so I thought I'd throw it in to. Wheels are 15x10 with 3 1/2" bs. Tires are 295/50/15 on all 4. All stock suspension.

Re: Wheel/Tire Fitment Pictures & Info
Is 4.75 in of backspacing not gonna be enough for a 9.5 in wheel? I found some wheels i like with zero offset and was wondering if they will work? btw the tires ill be running will be roughly 30 by 10 in.

Re: Wheel/Tire Fitment Pictures & Info
when checking for the widest tire that'll fit, I saw something real kewl on HorsepowerTV. They tied a weight (bolt or nut, etc.) to a string, and taped the string to the fender... the weight makes the string hang straight down, and you can measure from the string directly to the inner part of the fenderwell (measure to any bumps in the metal that'll be closest to outside ridge of fender). That'll give you a close idea of widest rubber that'll physically fit inside the fender. They ordered the rubber, then used a backspacing tool mounted to the rubber tire to find out what backspacing they would need on the rim. I believe the tool was called a mount mate, but not sure.

Re: Wheel/Tire Fitment Pictures & Info
I am also interested in the tire mount mate. Where can I get one? I cannot find much info on this tool.

Re: Wheel/Tire Fitment Pictures & Info
I put the truck part way back together to test my new wheels.
There 22 9.5's with 6 in backspacing and 285 35 22 toyo proxes. They fit good. No rubbing yet. You can see pics here. http://s26.photobucket.com/albums/c1.../My%20project/ Last edited by bs25j; 05-12-2006 at 11:27 PM. |
