84 GMC 6.2L Diesel Question.

Hey its getting warmer out and I have a question on why my truck now is running rough at IDLE. It did this last year to but I didnt drive it a lot .Meaning maybe 10 to 20 miles a week . The glow lights come on at start and goes on and off just for a few just like it should. Then after it warms up maybe 2 to 3 minutes the elctronic part that releases the peddle {diesel-Peddle}I feel it release as Im setting their in the drive like a click and then it goes into rough idle. In all the truck runs great in any other condition.

So it runs rough warm or cold at idle.

Is their a idle adjutment or intake adjutment.

My truck does have that intake with the egr.

Thanks all .

I am sorry you havent got any response to your question. Unfortunately there arent many diesel owners on here, you might try posting this in the engine and drivetrain section instead. There is a member here by the name of Arveetec, see if you can get a hold of him, he knows his stuff or knows a better place for you to find it.

Re: 84 GMC 6.2L Diesel Question.

Right dead center up front is a cylindrical part with a wire going to it and a long threaded bolt sticking forward. If you push on that bolt,it will rev up.It`s the high-idle solenoid. It`s adjustable.Try disconnecting it and see if nothing changes. If nothing changes,it`s not working.Check for current at the connector on the wire.A good sight for info on GM diesels is www.thedieselpage.com,tell`em CK Piquup sent you.I don`t go there much anymore.I learned alot, but I like this site better(Don`t tell them I said that)

Re: 84 GMC 6.2L Diesel Question.

thedieselplace.com is my favorite diesel site. No subscription charges and a lot of info on 6.2/6.5 Diesels. Thats diesel PLACE not diesel PAGE.
