hp ? on a stock 350

i have a stock 350 /400trans in a 69 longbed iwas woundering if any body knows what the hp was on this engine thanks

255 gross, and I think 200 net. Those engines were 9.0 to 1 compression if I remember correctly and the cam wasnt engineered with emission's in mind.

my factory spec book lists:
350 turbofire 4bbl (8.5:1 comp) gross 175hp @ 4000 rpm, 280 lb-ft @ 2400 rpm

350 High Torque 4bbl (8.5:1 comp) gross 175hp @ 4000 rpm, 290 lb-ft @ 2400.

175 is the '72 factory net hp rating for the 4bbl truck 350. '69 - '71 were factory rated at 255 gross hp. Note that there is no difference between these motors.

I may be wrong on this, but wasn't compression higher in the pre 1970 vehicles? I checked my 72 brochure and 175 HP is correct rating for the 350 in that year. Gotta believe the earlier engines were rated higher and had higher compression...

Help me if I'm wrong.

'69 - '71 were all rated at 255 gross hp. AFAIK, all were 8.5:1 compression. I am talking about 4bbl 350 cid light truck engines.

maybe it had something to do with the new emissions laws at the time? new emissions equip dropped/changed hp ratings, perhaps...?
