Rear Bumper Bracket Problems?

I'm trying to put a new rear bumper on my 72 3/4 ton pick-up. It has springs not coils and I looked around at all the places selling these brackets. The only place that said they had the right brackets was (earlyclassic) and when they came they weren't even close. Any of you guys run into this problem? Thanks Rick

I think the only differnce is on a leaf spring truck is that you have a notch to clear one of the rivets for the leaf spring hanger. I had the same issue when mounting a sport bumper on my K10. You should be able to clearance the bracket and be good to go!

Re: Rear Bumper Bracket Problems?

AFAIK the rear sport bumper brackets are the same for all coil sprung trucks SWB and LWB same ones for the leaf sprung LWB (2wd, 4x4) trucks. The SWB leaf (2wd)and SWB 4x4 are different and will use the same brackets these are being reproduced now and are available from most venders ie-GMC Pauls Mothertruckers, etc. These are called 4x4 brackets by the vendors. With your truck being a 3/4 ton I am guessing a LWB. The common brackets should work.
