big block clutch linkage

I have installed a 454 and a Muncie M20 4 speed in my 70 GMC. What does the big block clutch linkage look like and where can I get one? I have a six cylinder linkage and a small block linkage and neither one of them fits. Did big block stickshifts exist? If they don't exist what can I do? The engine is mounted in the factory location with the correct big block mounts. Any help will be greatly appreciated. This one has me stumped and it is all that is keeping me from driving my truck!

Re: big block clutch linkage

My small block has an offset linkage rod and z-bar, it is all original, but I assume that would clear for a big block. I can get a closer pic tommorow if you want.

Re: big block clutch linkage

you could ask for one in the parts board, someone prolly has one lying around, maybe E-Bay will turn up something.A new hydrolic unit might be the answer,or make one out of the two you have.I'm assuming that they are too long due to the width of the block,(Never seen a BB Z-bar),cut it in half, and section it.Put it in place and make the arms go in the right postition, then weld it back together. In fact, and small piece of pipe big enough for the pieces to slide into would be nice, and then you can mark the right position, and just weld the sleeve in place.
