Re: the boys truck?

yellow69...that is so true I have alot of kids and the point you made about not having room for to many friends is actually my first thought when I buy for mine. Just enough room for there girl and maby one friend. Ofcourse my 15 year old daughter wants a short wide lowered in you guessed it ''PINK'' .And she has been workin hard with her brothers gettin it ready for paint. She wants to start her own thread so she will be here pretty soon.

Re: the boys truck?

This happened about 9 years ago when my oldest was 15. I gave him a 1958 Apache with a 350 and a 4-speed right before I moved overseas. My mom would call me every weekend and my son happened to be there this time. When I was talking to him I heard my mom in the back ground say "Tell him what you did", when I finally got it out of him he had traded it for a four wheeler. Lets just say it's a good thing I was 8000 miles away when he told me. That is a damn nice truck for a first vehicle. You need to take him to some truck shows so he can see the potential these things have.

Re: the boys truck?

To the NE folks; David City huh, i worked a summer in Wahoo for the NRCS in which i worked in David city and Butler County quite a bit. I to live in Lincoln and go to School at UNL. I am originally from Pawnee City. Hell id easily drive to D.C. and give you cash so the kid can work on his charger fund. When i was 15 all i wanted was one of these trucks and finally when i was 19 i could afford to get my hands on one, beats the heck out of my 75 caprice i started on, but im sure my parents were thinking thats about as safe as I could have when i was 14.

Re: the boys truck?

When my son turned 15 I gave him a rusty, beat up, non running, 72 4x4 and a promise that we would fix it up, and he was thrilled. We just finished the resto and sent it to paint a couple of weeks ago. Can't wait for it to come home.

Re: the boys truck?

My first car was a 74 pinto and I wanted a 67-72 Chevy Truck so bad that I finially got one my Senior year my my Dad paid $1500 for my 71 SWB stepside 4x4 GMC it was real rough and needed everything but I was in love with it and still am to this day. I paid my Dad back in payments, I will never sell it too much personal value.

Re: the boys truck?

for 1300, thats a deal. my 69 was given to me by my dad as my first car. i will never get rid of it for that reason alone. not many people still have their first car.
