Green LED's installed in dash tonight.
Just installed green LED MATRIX bulbs tonight. What do you think?
Two B9's for the heater controls and four 194's for the instrument cluster. These are not my cup of tea. These would look really sharp with white face guages.

Re: Green LED's installed in dash tonight.
Big difference.
Do they dim the same as a regular bulb? Might edit the bulbs for sale in this section though... |

Re: Green LED's installed in dash tonight.
FormulaFire- I bought these on ebay. Here are the two listings.
B9 1895's & 194's VTBlazer- These LED's dim exactly like a normal bulb.

Re: Green LED's installed in dash tonight.
The only wiring modifications that had to be made were little wires that are on the 194 light bulb where they insert into the into the socket. These bulbs are the push in wedge style. The wires on the bulb did not meet up and had to be bent and moved to ensure contact was made. Once that was done, they worked perfect.

Re: Green LED's installed in dash tonight.
I thought wiring mods had to be made for LED tail lights, is that true. If so, why no mods for this?

What kind of wiring mods are you talking about?

Re: Green LED's installed in dash tonight.
The only mod for LED tails, as far as I know, is to install a no-load flasher. LED's don't draw enough current to make a normal flasher... well, flash.

I attempted to dim the dash last night without success. When I attempted to dim the dash lights last night, the bulbs were either ON or OFF. I found you cannot dim the dash lights if you have swapped all your incondescent dash lights with LED's. You need at least one incondescent bulb in a dimmable socket for the LED's to dim. I thought the LED's were dimmable because I dimmed the dash lights after I intalled one LED and it worked. I did this several times during the installation. Apparently, I did not try this when I swapped out ALL the bulbs. I did not like the look, so I removed the LED's. Oh, by the way, do not start your truck with the oil pressure gauge disconnected. I'm sure many of you already knew that. What a friggin mess I have on my carpet. I would have been really livid if I did not have new carpet on the way. I was sitting there, at night, with the truck running looking at the dash lights. I was on the fence about leaving the lights in or taking them out, So had them dash partially installed. When I opened the door to hop out the under dash lights shined on the pool of Quakermud 10W40 located infront of the pedals The reason I even moved the truck was because my house A/C water collector/remover stopped working which resulted in a swimming pool in my garage. I was a little peaved since I had two messes to clean up.
