Accumulated parts will finally be used..
I have been hanging around here the last few years, mainly trying to learn more about these trucks, but hopefully helping someone else out ever now and then. But now I will be needing lots of help.
Yesterday, I bought my next project. it’s a one owner 72 ,½ ton, Cheyenne super 402 mustard and white. The PO recently passed way and I happened to be in the right place at the right time to get the truck. It has 97k original miles and is in great shape. The only rust I have seen is on the battery tray. The interesting part is that it has the original title dated 6-13-72 ( late production date I’ am guessing) with the previous owner of Longhorn Chevrolet in Wichita falls. And today in the glove box I found the protect-o-plate. I am sure I will have tons of questions in the future, but I will start with this one. I thought the vin #’s on these trucks started with just CE, but this one has a CCE. Does the CCE seem odd or am I just confused? I don’t have any pics yet, but I will post a couple of my last(been awhile) project just cause I know you guys gotta see something.

Re: Accumulated parts will finally be used..
In 72, GM added another letter to the VIN, Chevrolet recieved a C and GMC got a T.

Re: Accumulated parts will finally be used..
That`s right, before that there was no way to tell a Chevy from a GMC in the VIN#.Kinda odd, ain`t it.Considering there was already locking ignition/steering in cars since`68.Not too worried about truck theft,I guess.Ah,it`s justa truck, right?
BTW,great score!

Re: Accumulated parts will finally be used..
He was just showing pics of his last project because he didn't have pics of the new score.
Which, by the way, that black truck is awesome! I hope you still have it!

Re: Accumulated parts will finally be used..
Here are a couple pics of the new project. That is if I got them the correct size to post. Thanks Longhorn man and special-k for clearing up that vin ?.
and to the rest for the other comments on my black truck. Unfortunatly, I sold her awhile back(corvett fever)and have been kicking myself ever since. Hopefully, I get this next one in about the same shape before to long. need to start by finding a short frame.
