Were to put an oil temp sensor?

Well the title says it all basicly.
I've tried the oil pan, but it leaked a little bit and I wanted to tighten it a bit more but it broke off,
leaving me with a lot of cleaning to do on the floor in front of my house
The adapter plug broke in half. The part that was still inside the oilpan I luckely got it out without any problems.
So is there any other place where I can put this oil temp sensor in a Small Block?
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

That same place but use a gasket. Or a better gasket. Seems easy to get to. Peace.

Well it had a gasket, or better, a copper ring.
But maybe I should try the newer gaskets they sell at the dealer, the ones with the rubber insert. (GM Part # 14090908)

Thanks James

Re: Were to put an oil temp sensor?

Oil temp huh? OK, well, I would personally just tee the connector for the oil pressure on the back of the block (just behind the intake) and go from there.

Re: Were to put an oil temp sensor?

When I was running an LT1 in my 240Z, I plumbed the oil temp sensor in the oil pan. I pulled the pan and welded a nut to to it. I was then able to really crank down on the sensor to crush the copper washer creating a good seal...never had a drop of oil from it. I used some hylemar on the threads for double protection, but it was likely unnecessary....
