Anybody seen this sytle fleetside bed?
I came across this today while I was busy "working".
http://www.flickr.com/photos/3280628...-classic_cars/ I recall seeing a blue 69-70 with a similar style bed in show coverage in a Sport Truck magazine a few years back. Whats the story on these? |

Re: Anybody seen this sytle fleetside bed?
The rear looks like a 64-66 style truck modled into ours

Re: Anybody seen this sytle fleetside bed?
I've seen these in Mexico. I've been told that GM uses "left over" parts on the trucks sold in Mexico.

Re: Anybody seen this sytle fleetside bed?
That was the way the rear of a 67-72 Chevy export truck to South America looked.
I saw the truck line up in a 1970 Chevy truck export brochure for Argentina. Last edited by burb71; 06-15-2006 at 02:41 PM. |

It`stheexport bed.The trucks got shipped cab,n,chassis, these beds`were shipped broke-down for assembly at destination. Not left over parts,no American truck ever had these beds,

Side body lines are different on the Mexico trucks also.

Re: Anybody seen this sytle fleetside bed?
Yeah, but those tailights were used on the 64-66 fleetside beds. But they look like they're placed lower that usual.

Re: Anybody seen this sytle fleetside bed?
You`re right.I realized after I posted the lights are "left-overs".I didn`t change it cuz mostly I was saying the bed itself was never used in the US.

Re: Anybody seen this sytle fleetside bed?
Very weird...looks like a '67 fleetside bed with taillights shaved and '63-'66 taillights added. Then they extended a stepside tailgate to fit the fleetside bed. How strange is that? Different to say the least!

Re: Anybody seen this sytle fleetside bed?
Also it looks like the center of the tailgate is a stepside tailgate.
