Cristmas came early!

I am getting ready to start on "Project Lemon Drop" (a 68 short step) and thought I would stock up on a few new tools to make things go a bit faster. I have been using older tools that I made or fixed for years now and had a chance to invest a bit more in the buisness and in myself.

Parts list~
20" panel beater bag and mallets (round/teardrop)
3 different size rigid sanding boards
1 flexable sanding boards
1 air board
1 shrinker
1 stretcher
1 sand blast kit (for panel repair)
1 body solder kit
1 18" bullseye pick
1 Beverly shear (good for 10ga) not in pic
1 undercoating kit for getting rust inhibitors in all kinds of place's
2 devilbiss paint guns (1 primer, 1paint/clear)
2 welding books (I always like looking for new tricks)
1 Roper whitney Jr punch

Let the fun begin

Sweet! The shrinker/stretcher set is probably my most favorite tool in my shop!

It should save tons of time over my old way of tucking to shrink and hammering to stretch! But I feel it is a good thing to know since you can not always get these tools in to all places.

Re: Cristmas came early!

I think everyone should at least know how to do things like tucking before they are allowed to use a shrinker! My old tucking forks look like they were hit by a freight train though, so they just gather dust for now.....

J/K. I like doing things the "old way" some times just for a kick in the pants

Re: Cristmas came early!

What's the big deal about "tucking?"

Jeesh ... I do it every morning ... my shirt into my pants, that is!

Go to Eastwood Company and you can find it all their. I know alot of guys don't like Eastwood because all they do is buy and re-sell. But they are good products they "re-sell" and it saves me a bunch of time finding new products to try. Once I try then and if I like them I will try and find a local supplier for consumables.

Tucking forks? Heck all I have had are pieces of flat stock with center slits and "T" handles. Forks are for eating after a good day of work and if you eat enough you will stretch automaticly and then get tucked into bed

I think I am most excited about using the Throughtless Beverly shear B2. That should save alot of time and alot of warn out hand snips.

Re: Cristmas came early!

I got my Throughtless Beverly shear B2 today so now the only toys I am waiting on are my new HDV Camera and Imac 2g..

Ready to start having fun! I will try and get bench mounts made for all the new toys this weekend so I can start using then right away.

Re: Cristmas came early!

Got the stand made for the new toys! Since shop space is to valuable to take up I went for a dismountable stand. It is made with a 2" reciever and that way I can have any item slide right into it. The mounts are for my vise, Beverley shear and my shrinker & strecher. I think I will add some braces to the bottom of the feet so I can also mount my Anvil on top for metal beating.
