Aftermarket inner fenders & core support
Does anyone have any firsthand experience fitting aftermarket inner fenders and aftermarket core support in a '67/68 truck? The availability of original core supports without rust-through on the pass side for the 67/68 is pretty slim. Before I drop the dough I wanna be sure I won't be cussing trying to get these pieces to fit right.

Re: Aftermarket inner fenders & core support
I just fit up my 68 with all my aftermarket sheetmetal. Core support and inner fenders came from The Truck Shop in CA. The core support fit perfectly and had no problem lining up the fenders and hood. Also, the little bumps on top of the original supports are not there on this one. Kinda nice, as I was thinking I would have to remove those.
The inner fenders fit fairly good. The passenger fit real nice, with the only holes needing attention was the two top ones that bolt up into the fender. The drivers side will need all the holes opened up a bit to one side. But the fit to the fender lip is good on both sides.

Re: Aftermarket inner fenders & core support
One problem I had with a aftermarket core support was where the batt. box bolts onto it. The (3) holes beside where the radiator is were at an angle instead of in a straight line, so my original batt holes didn't line up. Maybe a aftermarket batt box would have the same hole locations as the rad supp. I didn't like the fender alignment a TriPlus rad. supp. gave me. I found an original one with the traditional batt drip rot, and fixed that area. I think that is the way to go. It can all be made to work, if you have the skills. I don't. So I had to pay for the fabrication. That's why when I meet someone at a Cruise-In or Super Chevy that has done all the work himself, Now that's a talented dude. I can admire that ability more so that some of the engineers I have met.

My inner fenders were a piece of cake (chocolate).
