'67 K10 Carb issues

I have a '67 K10 stepside with a 250 in it (I'll post a picture later). Had a bad fuel filter and a kink in the fuel line. I replaced the fuel filter and the line, and about 1 hour of running later had gas pouring out the side of my carb. Thinking of a new carb rather than rebuilding, anyone have any thoughts as what works best for this straight 6? I was thinking maybe a Holley 390cfm, but would like to hear from anyone who has gone to something other that the 1 barrel.
