exhaust on lowered blazer
I have a 79 blazer with a four link and bags. the fuel tank is in the stock location, between the frame rails behind the rearend. with the panhard bar placement my exhaust guru is telling me that he will need to put the exhaust UNDER the rear. I really dont like this idea, but as it stands there is really no room otherwise. My question is anybody done this or have any imput? One more small thing, when the exhaust get the the rear of the blazer he(guru) wants to exit the vehicle behind the rear wheels. I want it to exit straight out the back. But he says that will only fill the inside up with exhaust when the top is on and the window is down. (the top will be off 75% of the time). thanks for any imput...........jesse

Re: exhaust on lowered blazer
I thought of that also, but i dont want the resonation(sp) and sound under the blazer. also if it matters once the exhaust is installed I will be ordering a zz4 crate motor and i dont want the exhaust to be too loud if I don't have my foot in it.

Re: exhaust on lowered blazer
If the exhaust is straight out the back, you will get fumes inside. A friend of mine found out the hard way on a full size Bronco. I'd at least turn them on a 45.
Without pics it's hard to say, but I know there's no way I'd have the exhaust pipes between the rear axle and the ground. Could you go out the sides in front of the rear wheels? Or maybe build a 'channel' over the rearend (in the floor pan) for the exhaust?

Re: exhaust on lowered blazer
I know lots of street rods have the exhaust this way and with my wheels being 20s the exhaust will not be that close to the ground. the interior and the floor pan are completed, building a channel is not really an option at this stage. not that i would want to do that just for exhaust. I just want them to exit at least behind the rear wheels and not see them........
