new to board

Hello all. I just found this site and it looks like you guys have quite a bit of knowledge on these trucks. I currently own a 1969 chevy 4x4 with an 8" lift, disc brakes, and a fresh, healthy 350. A lot of work but it is getting there! Now needs paint, and interior and it will be done. I look forward to getting some good ideas from you.

thanks for the warm welcome. Not sure how to post pics but I'll give it a shot. Pretty crappy pics, but like I said, the truck is getting there.

Awesome, i just put a 3 inch body lift in my truck for a total of 8... what size tires can you stuff under there? I've still got the 33's on right now, they look like friggin' donuts. Nice engine by the way.

Chevy409, those are 35's but there is still plenty of room. And if not, I have a 3" body for it as well. I am going to do a frame up this winter on it and will decide at that point if I really need to go that high with it. The motor is actually for the boat. I wish I had the big block in the truck!

Blue 71. Sorry, been busy and havn't had time to reply. Basically, I have swapped out the entire drivetrain and rear spring hangers from a 78 pickup. The only problems that I ran into were brake lines not being long enough and the front springs are a little bit shorter on the 69 than on the 78, so I had to drill the frame, and move the rear hanger on the front spring back 2-3 inches. Other than that, no problems.
