Cruise not working?
i just recently bought a 99 chevy pickup. i came to use the cruise and it doesnt work. when you push it over to "on" , the green light doesnt come on in the dash. nothing happens, but when i listen carefully, if i move it from off to on i can here a clicking sound momentarily from the little box on the firewall. i already checked the fuse and its good and if it makes a noise when i move the cruise to on, that must mean that the cruise/blinker thing is good right? so could it be in that box on the firewall, can someone tell me what its actuall name is and what i would expect to pay for a new one? thanks

Re: Cruise not working?
You have to move the switch to the right to turn it "on" but the green light will not come on UNTIL you push in the button on the end of the turn signal lever. You basically stick your finger in at the end of it. Once the button is pushed in your cruise will work and the green light will come on.
You can "coast" and slow down the cruise by pushing the end button in and holding it. You can accelerate (or resume your previous cruise if you hit your brakes) by pushin the switch to the right. To accelerate you need to hold it in until you reach your desired speed.

Re: Cruise not working?
Sorry, but in your explanation all you said you were doing was moving the switch back and forth, not pushing the button in
I tried a seach over at GM-trucks.com and came up with nothing
