'69 engine storage
I have a 4-bolt block that I had an unreal amount of machine work done to. It will be spring (tax return) before I can buy all the pieces to put it together. I'm afraid of rust. What can I do about it?
It seems to have a light coat of some kind of oil. I'm sure that will protect it for a bit, but I doubt until spring. Here's what I'm thinking: red grease. If I wipe a thin coat of red grease on all the machined surfaces, will it protect from rust without doing some other damage I'm not thinking of? I have an engine bag on it, and it's in a shop. but humidity will still take a toll, I think.
