Question Will brake dust shields from a 1971/72 C10, C20, or K20 fit a 1971 K10?

I have a 1970 K10 with a 1971 K10 front axle on it. I am looking for a replacement brake dust shield for the passenger side and I have not had much luck find any at the wrecking yard. I was wondering if the brake dust shields from a 1971/72 C10, C20, or K20 would fit the 1971 K10 front axle.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The C-10, C-20 shields definitely will not fit but I am not sure on the K-20.

Another option is to use the 73 to 81 K-10 shields. They are a direct replacement and they are a definite design improvement. Around here they are very plentiful so hopefully you can find them in your area.

Jim,

Thanks for the response. I checked out the wrecking yards near me and I wasn't able to find any K10/K20 front axles from the 1971 to 1981 range. I guess I will have to keep looking. I am assuming that the years 1971 to 1981 all use the Dana 44 axle with the same backing plate, and therefore the same dust shield.

Thanks again,

-Steve

K20s have larger diameter rotors, so I would assume that the dust shileds are larger also. If you are looking to just get the dust shileds and not the caliper brackets, you will have to be careful as there are a few different types of caliper brackets over the years, and they use different style dust shields.

I am wondering similar thing. Will 2 wheel drive front disc brake backing plates work on dana 44 1/2 ton disc brake frontend?

Try search and look for me. I posted this a while back. I will look for it too.
