upgrade to v8?

I have a 65 truck with 4 on the floor. What is the best route to take for a V8 motor or should I stay with the inline 6. What kind of gas tank do I look for in junk yard to move gas tank from cab to under bed?

Thanks

Re: upgrade to v8?

look for a 70-72 blazer tank to relocate it. as far as the engine, thats up to you, but a small V8 would give you better torque and not use a whole lot more gas than the I6.

Re: upgrade to v8?

I went with a summit racing fuel cell in the bed. Takes up a bit of space but isn't horrible to deal with. My 350 gets 170 miles on a 16 gallon tank w/ a 660cfm carb. Dunno the gears, but I made it cruisin at 4,000 rpm's going 70 on the freeway.
