Rebuild origninal Posi or replace w/ Eaton?

I took the rear end out of my truck last night and will be rebuilding it over the next few days with new bearings, new ring and pinion and new forged axleshafts. Is it worth rebuilding the factory Posi that is in there or whould I be better off (performance-wise) to put a new eaton posi in it??

I want something that will hold up to at least 450hp and drag slicks and still be able to make both wheels turn effectively....

I am by no means an expert in this area, but it sure sounds like you wouldn't want a clutch type posi with what you are trying to accomplish. I think you would be better served with a locker.

The factory posi is an Eaton. The 12-bolt is an Eaton rear.

The factory posi is an Eaton, but a 12 bolt is not an Eaton axle.
