trans hump question

hi
first post on here
i was wondering if the trans hump in a 72 is bolted or welded?
wanting to do away with a floor shift

Depends........... If your truck has a "low hump" it is part of the floor and will need to be cut out and replaced. If your truck had a big block, a 4 speed, or a 4x4 it will have had a "high hump" (there may have been other models with them too) but they are simply bolted to the floor. It's easy to identify them. Low humps are only a couple inches above the floor and a high hump is 4 or 5 inches above the floor (comapared to ds and ps floor height). Hope this helps.
