Re: Who's going to Pigeon Forge this weekend?

Just a piece of advice, with over 300,000 cars and approximately 500,000 people in town, it will not be easy to designate a time and place for everyone to meet. Let's exchange phone #'s and just try to meet whenever we can.

My cell # is 865-789-3879 I plan on going out and cruisin around a little while Thurs. and Fri night, going to the show early Sat. morning, then hangin around in town for most of the afternoon.

With so many people in town, sometimes the airwaves get busy and it's hard to get a call through on cell phones.

I agree with him.
I have been going to Rod Run my whole life (I have family in Sevierville & Maryville, it's been a regular weekend since I can remember).

There is about no way you are going to say "We are going to be at [here at now] and meet. Too many people and too many cars. Just call and meet up when you can. Kind of funny to think of a cell phone not working in this day and age huh?

All that said - I am going to try and ride up - but my A/C install is almost finished, and I may not get to work on it until Saturday. If that's the case, count me out. I will be heading up to Sevier County soon though for all you folks in that area, I'd like to meet up if there are any cruise-in's, etc. that go on - PM me.

My best friend and my girlfriend and I are planning on headed up there. Heads up to anyone coming who isn't already aware: if there are signs that say "Customer parking only" it isn't a joke. Earlier this spring Walgreen's had rollbacks lined up for tows

Re: Who's going to Pigeon Forge this weekend?

Curious, is this the big Chevy show that they have every fall and spring? If so, I would like some or any info on it? A co-worker and I wanted to go, but have always missed it...

Re: Who's going to Pigeon Forge this weekend?

It's the Grand Run. Mainly muscle cars, trucks and tri-5 stuff. Some street rods, too, but most of those guys go to Shades of the Past which was last weekend. We're staying at the River Place Inn, and I'll have the Big Banana (yellow 72 burb) there. Stop by for a game of Cornhole (not what you may be thinking ) and a cold beverage out of a styrofoam cup!

The actual "show" is at The Grand Hotel. There is only enough room for around 300 cars in the show, and most of them are very nice. What makes the show so big is the crowd it draws into town. It's an open show, and you never really know who or what may show up. the Fri. and Sat. night cruising is a blast. It's the only two weekends a year where you'll see 800hp supercharged prostreet cars cruising the strip. the crowd tends to get pretty rowdy too. Cops are on the prowl writing tickets to anyone spinning tires, racing, revving engines, encouraging any of the above, and don't forget the girls flashing for Mardi Gras beads.

Tickets for spinning tires(wreckless endangerment and disorderly conduct) is $98, but if you pay it without contest, it doesn't go on your record. If you try to fight(which you won't win) you would have to pay the fine, court costs, other court related fees, and it DOES go on your record.

Tickets for girls flashing or to anyone handing out beads to girls for flashing is $120.

I forgot my camera when my dad and I went to the show, but he took a couple of pics I'll try to share later if i remember.
