stripped fuel filter mounting

Well, I stripped the opening for the fuel filter in my rochester carb

My carb number: 7028213 DY

Of course I stripped the carb end of the threads, not the nut...

I posted a WANTED ad in the new classified section.

Does anyone know what carb pieces are compatible with a 1968 Rochester quadrajet that was used on a 327 truck motor application?

Re: stripped fuel filter mounting

if you are running a inline fuel filter you can use epoxy to fix the carb , just put a little around the nut threads and cram it back in the carb just remember that you can not ever take it back off once you do that so dont put a filter in there
and when ya are putting the fuelline in to it use a 1inch wrench to hold it in place so that it dont bust the carb anyworse, i have did a few like that

Re: stripped fuel filter mounting

You can buy oversize self tapping nuts that will cut new threads at most parts stores.

Re: stripped fuel filter mounting

In the help section at carquest they have an oversize fuel fitting that will cut new threads, just becareful to make sure no fillings/metal get into the carb
