342 gears??

Anyone running these gears?? Were they an option on 1/2 ton's?? I know they are pretty popular on 3/4 ton but am curious for a Blazer. I like the mid range potential of 342--.

Re: 342 gears??

The 3:42 gears came in G Van's in late 70"s and early 80's, I believe!! I have built a couple and it makes a nice semi-performance and towing package.

Re: 342 gears??

I think they came out in 73 trucks as a 340 and went to a 342 a few years later. Should go up to 81 in a 12 bolt.
