Bucket Seat Options
I'm looking to put bucket seats in my 69 chevy. I've been watching the local junk yards for a set, but not really finding what i want. I saw a pickup at the goodguys show this weekend with early 90's astro seats in it that looked pretty good. Has anyone put in transplant seats that they liked, and what were they out of? Pictures would be great. Thanks for the help, and I don't mean just on this, on all the other advice/tricks I've read on other threads!

Re: Bucket Seat Options
It’s too dark to take a pic now but I’m using a 50/50 split bench seat from a 91 Lincoln continental. The trucks wide enough to separate the bench and put the console from an 88 sub between them… Oh yeah, they’re 10 way power, black leather. Just had to fab brackets up of course.

Re: Bucket Seat Options
Here are some other options
Blue seats in silver truck and blue truck are out of late 80's nova 4 door silver seats in red truck are also out of a nova. They have manual lumbar and even a height adjustment lever brown seats which are really comfortable are out of an acura legend about 87-89 they also have manual lumber and a height adjustment wheel all these seats are curved in the back which makes them mold to the gas tank really well for leg room. Only thing is you have to have some brackets made to mount these in our trucks

Re: Bucket Seat Options
Hey, thanks alot, gives me good ideas! I kind of lost this post after i put it up so i'm sorry I didn't reply earlier, but thanks for the ideas. It kind of sounds like find what I think looks sharp, and put em in. There was another thread a day or two after mine and i saw the second row suburban seat in a truck. I fell for that set up and have one on hold at the junk yard now, but it's never done till it's done. thanks again

Re: Bucket Seat Options
Nate yes all of them have the center console but I prefer the 73 and up Console as they usually have the cupholders and a spot in the middle for the cell phone.Just more useful than the seatbelt holders and ashtray setup

Re: Bucket Seat Options
Those seats looks great! I have one question though...and I'm not an engineer so whoa on the flinging wrenches.....but are those brackets strong enough not to collapse in a collision...or are they designed to do just that?
That top photo looks like it would just fold flat in a serious impact.....is there any front to back bracing under them? The reason I ask is because I'm looking at adding tahoe seats and dont want to have to go back in and re-do the mounts....insight? Advice? Am I just being silly? Thanks all...... I did look at that photo again.....I suppose it might not be so bad as the seat belts are anchored to the floor of the cab....the Tahoe seat belts are anchored to the seat....so the mounts would probably have to be a little different...?????? Anyone here done those type of seats yet?

Re: Bucket Seat Options
I have seats out of a 2001 Chevy 1-ton, got them from Vince M and they bolted right to the floor. No mounts up top, just sat them on the floor board and used angle iron underneath to make them safe. I used grade 8 bolts and that was it.

Re: Bucket Seat Options
The yellow truck is the one with accura legend seats somewhere around 87-89.
I also put a set of these in the gold truck I am presently redoing

Re: Bucket Seat Options
I like those Toyota Minivan seats! Those look sharp and I love the console. I'm 90% sure I will just get some aftermarket seats unless I find a score on CL or at a yard. All the seats I saw at the yard by my house were way to spendy.
