kickdown wiring
Quick question. I have a 1972 3/4 ton and have done a painless wiring kit. I have a turbo 400 tranny and need to know how the kickdown is wired on the gas pedal. I have one wire running to the tranny from the gas pedal switch and there is another connection on the gas pedal switch that I dont know where it goes. Could this be a ground connection?
I just pulled my 350 and replaced it with a 406 and rebuilt the 400 tranny. I will post pics very soon. Thanks for all the help this site has provided during this motor swap. Thanks,

Re: kickdown wiring
The other wire on the switch should be the 12 volt or hot wire. When the switch is closed the power runs through the switch down to the tranny connection. The solenoid goes to ground through the case.

Re: kickdown wiring
Ah... Thanks. Stupid question but does it matter which connection goes where?

Re: kickdown wiring
No stupid questions man. You should see some of the ones I ask. Shouldn't make any diff which terminal you put it on since it only serves to close the circuit from the power to the tranny.
