Question What is this?

I am looking at a 72 Longbed C10 to buy and it has this speakerbox thing mounted in between the sun visors, like the one pictured below. Is that for a CB or something? I cringed when I first saw it. The truck pictured is a suburban.

Looks like someone added a cb speaker. That must be one of those very rare options.J/K

That is a CB external speaker. Readily available at your local truckstop for $15-30.00

I agree. That sure looks like the prvious owner really butchered the dash. I see a replacement dash in his future.

That dash is going to be a mess when you pull those radio's out. Whoever the PO was must have really like to talk on a CB.

Fortunately the truck I am looking at has no holes cut in the doors and the original AM radio still in place with no other interior mods.
