Only I would . . .
Only I would take a camera with me when I go cut firewood - does this mean I'm sick? Darn saw broke before I was able to get enough wood cut - what a bummer.

Hey Yukon, ya burnin' that wood today? It's 50 degrees here at my house. After that ice storm, I couldn't get my chainsaw to start, had to take it to the shop for carb work. No problem finding firewood to cut around here these days is there? While I've got your attention, there is going to be a car & truck show here in Windield on June 23rd. We're hoping it will be the first of an annual event. I'll post more details when it gets closer to that date. Cya!

We are also still cleaning up from the ice storm here. We're gonna end up leaving most of it for next winter. Grass is growing up around the junk.

Chose to do better job and be behind schedule instead of 1/2 doing it and it looking like junk.

I know they have great reputations - right before it broke down it through the chain as I was beginning a cut. Got the chain back on and adjusted the tension. Fired it up reved a few time and then when it stopped the chain was pretty loose. Adjusted it again and then when I fired it up and started to cut it threw the chain again but this time I saw a little black piece of plastic fall out with some roller bearings. The dealer said it sounds like it took out the clutch. I've only used it a couple times since purchasing so hopefully it is a warranty covered problem.

Actually, you should ALWAYS have your camera! Bummer on your saw. We have used Stihls with great success for at least 15 years. I don't know why I didn't get another, but my last saw purchase was a Husqvarna, and let me tell you; if a woodchuck could chuck wood he'd hardly be started before the Husky would already be coolin' off!

LOL Mike C.! I know what yer sayin'! I've got a Husky that's 14 years old, and other than the carb problem mentioned (diaphram varnished up), it has been a great saw, and a cuttin' fool too! I like Stihl's too though, so if I ever have to buy another one, it will be a tough choice. We have a Stihl dealer here that is second to none, best customer service I've ever seen, and his business is good because of it.

So was I 68SWB4x4 - I went home with a wimpy load of wood and I even took off from work to go that afternoon.
Got off the phone with the Stihl dealer and he said he sees what happened, but he can't tell yet why it happened. He was going to get it back together and see what it does - hope warranty come through on it.

Called the Stihl dealer and it is all repaired. They have no idea what happened but will cover the repair costs. Nice to see good customer service.
Now, time to go fill the flatbed up soon. ------------------ 1969 C20 4x4 with roughly 6" lift and 35's residing near Rose Hill, Kansas Yukon Jack's Web Pages
