Re: Saw a C-50 on the road
Wow, what a beast of a truck.
I see them around pretty often being used as log trucks, lumber trucks, dump trucks...whatever. Lots around here too, actually I saw one for sale a few weeks ago. The largest truck I've ever driven was a mid 80's C50. It had a 366 with a Holley 4bbl, what looked like factory headers, and a 4-speed, with a stake-side bed on it. It was awesome. I'm pretty sure it had hydroboost of the brakes, and it stopped better than my C10, or at least had much, much better pedal feel.

I have a friend that lives on the state line, and even though he was operating in his radius off the farm, he needed a health card to run across the state line. DOT seems to change the reg's daily, and even officers don't have the entire scoop from the book. Most of the time, if you run a decent looking truck they wouldn't bother you as much as they would if you were running a POS.

Re: Saw a C-50 on the road
I wonder what one would look like sitting on a LWB regular pickup frame with a fleetside bed. I would think with 275/60 15s all the way around it might look kinda cool. It would look really lowered without even having to ACTUALLY lower it.

Re: Saw a C-50 on the road
I lived in a very small town growin up and I worked at the only place there was to work... my aunt's little (and very popular) down home style restaurant. There was a guy that drove a white 68 C50 or C60? Dump truck. For a NY truck it was very nice. Rust free. He took good care of it. He used it as his WORK TRUCK for his small hualing company. I worked at the restaurant from 93-99 and he came in almost everyday for lunch.
