Ladder bars on a "72"long bed

Hey man Is a wise decision to remove the stocky rear ladder bars and fabricate a hott pair of 66 inchers and weld up to the rear axle and install new brackets up front to mount the rod ends through on my "72"? Or just replace all the bushings with new urethane as well as all the old hardware clean up the stockys and re intall them. I'm going to run a set of 4:11's in my 12 bolt and would like to lock the rear axle in place in as best I can. Any sugestions or ideas?

the stock trailing arm set up is a very good one for putting the power to teh ground. I'd try that before gettin all wild and spending money where you probably don't need to.

Longhorn man, thanks for the advice I'll use it. Would you have any sugestions on spring size and weight as well as manufacturer to use with a 3"drop in the rear and a 2"drop up front? Also would coil over shocks in the rear be overkill?

i find that going around a corner real fast from a stop, almost like a donut.. anyways that's the only way i get wheel hop. stock trailing arms on my longbed

it wasn't really from a stop... i was turning left, and i passed the 2 lane street going right and as soon as i got to the median, i floored it and pretty much drifted the corner.

i really couldn't say on brand or anything for those springs... if it is not being used as a truck, and launching is more important, i would use a spring with a softer (lower) spring rate, to help transfer weight to the rear.
I wouldn't bother with coil overs, I've seen too many broken shock mounts becouse of those.
